Signs a site has outgrown itself

A site usually tells you when it is done. It does not work on a phone: text too small, a menu that will not open, a form nobody can fill in. It stopped bringing calls, or it never did. The hours and the services on it are out of date and nobody knows how to change them. The person who built it is gone, or still owns it, or wants a monthly fee to touch it. The photos are from a camera three phones ago.

A redesign is not starting over. Most sites have something worth keeping: the domain, a page that still gets found, copy that says the right thing, photos of real jobs. We keep those and replace the rest.

The price is the same as a new site: Standard from $2,450 for five pages (up to eight), Full from $3,400 with a page for each service. The pricing page has what changes it.

Bigger sites

Most five-page redesigns take 2–3 weeks. Redesigns with ten or more pages take 4–8 weeks, because every page gets read, kept or rewritten, and moved.

What happens

We look at the current site

The contact form has a field for your current website address. Send it, and before the first call we read every page on a phone and on a desktop, check what the form does, and note what the site says about your hours, your services and your towns.

Keep, replace, move

On the call we go through the site page by page and agree what stays and what goes. Copy that still describes the business gets moved and tidied. Pages that are out of date get rewritten from your notes. Photos you still like get placed; the rest get replaced with yours. If the old site has a page people find you by, it keeps its address or gets pointed to the new one so the link still works.

Build and launch

The new site is laid out for a phone first, with the form sending to your inbox, your Google Business Profile linked and basic on-page SEO on every page. Built to WCAG 2.1 AA and checked on every build. We go through it with you on a walkthrough call, then it goes live on your domain. Google does not verify or endorse these services.

You own the result

The website and the domain are yours, whoever built the last one. If the old site is hosted somewhere you cannot get into, tell us; sorting out access is usually the first job.

Redesign questions

Do I need to send my current site address?

It helps a lot. There is a field for it on the contact form. We read the whole site before the first call so the call is about what to keep, not what is there.

How long does a redesign take?

Most five-page redesigns take 2–3 weeks. Sites with ten or more pages take 4–8 weeks.

Can I keep my domain?

Yes. The domain is yours and stays yours. If someone else controls it today, getting it back into your name is part of the first conversation.

Who owns the new site?

You own the website and the domain. There is no long-term contract.
